Chemical Engineering major Samantha Schulte is among five Michigan State University students to earn the prestigious Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship, a university record for a single cohort of the award. This places MSU at 60 Goldwater Scholars since the award’s inception.

Erica Weeks, the college’s director of academic advising, received the Excellence in Community Building Award at MSU's Academic Advisor Recognition and Awards Ceremony on Feb. 24.

Georgios Pappas embraced a unique opportunity that changed his life. He was the first to graduate with degrees from the Michigan State University (MSU) College of Engineering and the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) as a result of a dual Ph.D. program agreement between the institutions.

MSU President Kevin M. Guskiewicz, Ph.D., and Interim Provost Thomas Jeitschko congratulated the newest Endowed Chairs, Endowed Professors and MSU Research Foundation Professors and Red Cedar Professors on Feb. 18, including six from the College of Engineering.

The Michigan State University College of Engineering recognizes 18 faculty and staff members with awards for their excellence in service and distinguished contributions. Each year, faculty and staff are nominated by their colleagues, industry peers and students for the most prestigious honors the college offers.

Michigan State University’s College of Engineering welcomed seven faculty in Spring 2025. Interim Dean of Engineering John Papapolymerou said that these additions will help the growing student body become innovative and solution oriented.

Spartan Engineering students involved in the student chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) recently won top awards at the global association’s 2024 Student Conference Awards Ceremony in San Diego, California.
