Showcase of Stars hands out $115,000 in scholarships
The Michigan State University College of Engineering awarded $115,000 in scholarships during the 2023 Dean’s Showcase of Stars on March 21. This year’s event included 180 students and corporate guests. It was hosted in the MSUFCU Club on the fourth floor of Spartan Stadium.
Dean Kempel on: Building the Industry 4.0 Workforce
Outlining a new Engineering and Digital Innovation Center in a capital outlay request, the Michigan State University Board of Trustees plans to build a new facility geared toward cutting-edge technological research and teaching the next generation of engineers to work in Industry 4.0. According to MSU College of Engineering Dean Leo Kempel, the facility will keep Michigan competitive in tech education on the global stage.
MSU dedicates $4 million Demmer Engineering Center
Michigan State University President Samuel L. Stanley Jr., M.D., and other university leaders officially introduced a new $4 million, one-story facility during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct. 6.
Tamara Reid Bush named associate dean for inclusion and diversity
Tamara Reid Bush has been named associate dean for inclusion and diversity with MSU Engineering following a national search. In this role, Reid Bush will serve on the senior management team and provide leadership for diversity, equity and inclusion efforts across all areas of the college. This includes oversight for policies, practices and programmatic initiatives designed to support and recruit faculty, staff and students.
